Carbon Brushes Important in Electric Motors

"Carbon Brushes - current-carrying parts with important functions in electric motors"

The name "Carbon Brush" comes from the thin copper wire bundles used as flexible contacts in the early days of electrical machinery engineering in industry. In the following years, the term "Carbon Brush" was established with the use of carbon and graphite materials. Carbon Brushes, which have undergone a development process for many years, maintain their place as an indispensable component of electrical machines in the microelectronic age. The production parameters are rich enough to accommodate a wide range of physical values and application possibilities. According to DIN IEC 60276 standard, carbon brush grades are categorized under 5 main groups.

Electrographite brushes

Metal graphite brushes
